Toy store opens its doors
Ten new jobs have been created by the opening of a new toy store in Cwmbran – with more temporary opportunities to follow.
The Entertainer has opened its doors in The Mall, and shoppers were treated to an official opening ceremony with a special visit by Poppet from Moshi Monsters.
A spokesman for the company said The Entertainer was celebrating its 30th anniversary in the toy retailing business this year, and now has 55 stores all over the UK. “The Cwmbran store has created ten new jobs, and there will be more temporary positions available later in the year as we prepare for the busy Christmas period. It’s been a busy 12 months for The Entertainer, with eight stores opening last year, 12 more this year, and a further 12 planned for 2012. By the end of this year, we plan on having 67 stores, making us the largest independent toy retailer in the UK.”
Cwmbran Shopping centre manager, Gerry Hutchings, said the store opening was excellent news for the town.
“It gives our customers even greater choice when it comes to children’s toys and games, and securing retailers like this helps us to ensure that Cwmbran remains a successful and popular shopping destination. We’re delighted to welcome The Entertainer to our town: It’s a big name store that is sure to attract shoppers from all over the Torfaen area and beyond.”
